Fascists countered by anti-fascists in Dublin: Four fascists arrested 22/8/20

FASCISTS PROTESTED IN DUBLIN. ANTI-FASCIST HOSPITALISED. FOUR FASCISTS WITH KNIVES ARRESTED . GARDAÍ ABUSE.⁣⁣

On Saturday the 22nd a small number of anti-fascists, Irish republicans, anti-racists and anti-speciesists marched towards another "Yellow Vest" fascist rally at the custom-house in Dublin city. ⁣

There was an immediate fight as fascists charged at the anti-fascists throwing bottles and using sticks, metal bars and other weapons, aiming for heads, leaving one anti-fascist unconscious. Gardaí ran over and started shouting at the anti-fascist counter-protesters to move back, forcing them away from their comrade who was knocked out and bleeding. ⁣

The nearby Garda "Public Order Unit" was called out and began violently pushing the anti-fascist counter-protesters over towards "Butt Bridge", some falling and being crushed; leaving the bleeding anti-fascist counter-protestor alone waiting for an ambulance. Later, several of the violent fascists were arrested and found with knives. The anti-fascist protestor is said to be in stable condition but with no recollection of the event. Garda acted violent, violating their powers, and visibly took a side.⁣

Regardless of how happy the far-right fascists were with their assault, some of their liberal "anti-lockdown" audience was not happy, confused at attending a fascist event, and based off the footage were visibly discontent and phased by a day of "freedom". Our presence visibly disrupted their activity for an extended period, and they were shamed nationally for their incompetence, disrespect to the victims of Covid19, and for putting more lives at risk. "Jedward" the twin singer duo ridiculed them harshly on twitter to their 600k followers later that day.⁣

The far-right white-nationalist "yellow vests", called "plastic patriots" by Irish republicans organise against Muslims, Black people, LGBT people, migrants and other minorities under the veil of "anti-paedophilia", "anti-corruption" and "freedom". We must ALL stand against these hateful people who don't deserve to call themselves Irish.⁣⁣ See the events unfold here.
