Hit Report: Connacht Sabs: Grallagh Harriers
HIT REPORT — Grallagh Harriers call guards on sabs while kennel watching & didn’t leave kennels due to our presence. This won’t take long..
We set off bright and early this morning to welcome the Grallagh harriers to a new cub hunting season. We were parked on the side of a public road for about one hour near Aille County Galway, hearing hounds howling on a number of occasions.
At about 8am two local Garda squad cars surrounded us, saying they were called to attend “5 people in balaclavas in a Jeep”. As is commonly the case the hunt forgot to mention we are simply there to stop them, hopeful the Gardai are less lenient on us.
Sadly for them today was not their day as the Gardai seemed fairly neutral or even anti hunt to an extent, staying less than ten minutes. They didn’t leave their kennels, either due to the Gardai not moving us or the delay hampering their plans.
We headed home at about 9am, content that no lives were lost and if they attempted to go out we were ready to intervene.
