Hunt hounds attack beloved dog

Zoomed in photo shows two of the “fifteen to twenty dogs”

Breaking News: hunting hounds have rioted after and attacked a beloved dog companion on the 17th of January 2021 in the area West of Bailieborough in Co Cavan, while breaking the level 5 Covid restrictions

We have been told that the beloved dog has patches of fur missing and was shaken by the attack, but has thankfully survived. The people in the house were afraid and were quoted saying they thought their dog companion was dead after hounds suddenly stopped howling. It is said a white van and black jeep were driving around looking for the hounds who were running around people’s gardens and houses. The hounds were described as being very skinny and having radio collars. The Gardaí were notified and it is understood the case is pending investigation.

The “Drumlin Hunt”, whose kennels are based in Kill, Cootehill Co. Cavan, are the nearest registered hunt in the Cavan area. They have denied any involvement in this incident. Laura Lynch, a member of the “Drumlin Hunt”, was quoted saying that the Drumlin Hunt has “not been hunting during lockdown”. She also said that there is “a lot of foot hunters and a few unregistered mounted packs in Cavan also”, to confirm her claim. This claim suggests these 15-20 hounds were used by foot hunters or part of an unregistered pack.
