Connacht, Munster & Leinster hit “North Galway” hunt

CONNACHT HIT REPORT: HUNT PACKS AFTER LESS THAN TWO HOURS, NO KILLS!

North Galway Foxhounds, The Neale, County Mayo 20/12/2020

See this map in the original post

We started our day off today bright and early down at Grallagh Harriers kennels, just south of Loughrea in east Galway where we were told they were gearing up for hunting. Joined today by our friends Munster Hunt Saboteurs and Leinster Hunt Saboteurs. Unfortunately they managed to escape us, they clearly planned in advance due to the increased pressure we have been putting on them. However our day was far from done, we received another tip off (these are flying in lately, thanks to everyone who is keeping tabs locally!) that the north Galway hunt were heading to The Neale, County Mayo.

We briskly headed north to give them a welcoming committee.

As we arrived, huntsman David Masterson was dismounted with his hounds in the center of the village (only done when he really needs hounds to do something) in a strange green hunting coat only usually seen during cubbing in August/September. Sabs were immediately deployed, hounds at this stage causing traffic mayhem in the village. A local farmer informed us that the hounds had rioted at his sheep, likely loosing lambs as a result (the supposed reason they are hunting is in fact to protect lambs!). This farmer was understandably enraged, blatant criminal trespass.

Once they eventually gathered the dispersed pack, the hunt moved east towards Neale Hill. They tried to flush here for about 30 minutes through dense woodland and some hedge lines, to no avail. The then doubled back towards The Neale which was when the hounds started speaking slightly. Sabs immediately started to rate them off the scent, succeeding in stopping them. David then took about 10 minutes to gather his hounds where we met another landowner, enraged that the hunt was hunting in the woods. Have NGH any landowners on side at all?? Shots also observed from a nearby piece of land, likely a gun club out murdering pheasants but we cannot confirm this.

They then proceeded south towards Ballyshingadaun, tried to pick up for about 30 minutes to no avail. We had eyes on the hounds for the entire day and can confirm there was no kill made. They decided to call it a day at about 2:30pm, packing with a maximum 2 hrs of hunting done and a lot of sunlight left! We also observed virtually no mask wearing from hunt staff nor field, plenty of hugging and bunching together. They clearly do not care about the elderly anyways, nothing surprising there.

A good day’s work today, cannot be better than that. If you could grab us the price of a coffee here to put into the vehicle it can keep sabs protecting foxes who can still be legally murdered in Ireland by a pack of hounds:

Hit report: Leinster Hunt Saboteurs: "North Galway" Hunt: The Neale: Mayo: 20/12/20: 13:30-15:00

After sabs from Connacht, Munster and Leinster lost the scent of the Grallagh Harriers who they intended to sabotage in south Galway, they headed north on the search for the "North Galway" hunt. To emphasise the major importance of tip-offs, a request for the location of this hunt was put out on Facebook and tip-offs came flooding in. The sabs headed north to The Neale in Galway where the hunt were located.

Upon arrival, sabs were met with some aggression; the hunt was visibly angry at the surprise sab presence and gave verbal abuse to the sabs high up on their horses. Sabs were on top of the hunt from the very start until the very end, and with some dangerous driving and riding into the saboteurs, the hunt failed to catch any recent scent and did not kill anyone on the 20th of December 2020. The hunt saboteurs were very successful on this strange, short and Covid-spreading day.

The "North Galway" hunt staff, field and followers did not physically distance and more than 75% of them were not wearing any mask.

Two residents in the area were very angry at the hunt presence and scared for their dog companions, one of them quoted saying to the hunt to “get the fuck out”.
