Financial Transparency
HSI Financial Transparency:
HSI is 100% volunteer-run (donations go further with us)
100% of donations strictly go towards sabbing (sab group grants, sab equipment, vehicle) and its related expenses (our website, ethical merchandise)
HSI believes that people who donate to any cause deserve adequate and accessible financial transparency
Where do donations and payments from the shop go?
All donations and shop payments eventually go directly into the HSI bank account depending on the payment type (PayPal, card payments on our website or bank transfer). HSI use this money in a variety of ways, the first includes giving grants directly to individual sab groups to help them with their vehicle and gear costs. The money is also used to purchase ethically made HSI merchandise. HSI Merchandise helps bring in a steady flow of funding and allows our supporters to represent us in Ireland and abroad. HSI also use this money to help pay for all the associated expenses of hunt sabotage such as this website, eco-packaging for shipping, purchasing of equipment to give to sab groups, etc. HSI is volunteer-run, which means everyone does this work in their free time, no one is paid a wage or ever will be. Funding is always raised with the aim to put more sabs in the field, and that will always be HSI’s number one goal.
Notes:
The HSI bank account was used as an account for a sab group for most of HSI’s first year (19/20) when we were getting our bearings. This means our books weren’t kept thoroughly and there isn’t 100% clarity on some income and expenses for that fiscal year, however the general income and expenses is recorded. The HSI bank account, Paypal and website are now specifically for HSI as an unregistered, non-profit, volunteer organisation. We will update this page on an ongoing basis. We believe it’s a moral obligation to donors for HSI to be transparent regardless of whether it’s legally necessary.
With Covid during the 20/21 season and the advent of our website, the finances won’t likely look normal until sabbing returns to normal. Also, as you will be able to see below hunt sabotage isn’t cheap or easy so if you can please donate, we really appreciate it and use every cent wisely.
