Help fundraise for HSI
How to fundraise:
Thank you so much for considering to fundraise for us, we appreciate and make use of every single cent that we receive, all of it goes towards protecting foxes and other animals directly in the field. If there’s anything we can help you with regarding fundraising we will be more than happy to help you. Click here for our financial transparency. We are volunteer-run, so you can be assured anything you raise will go directly to saving lives.
Form the idea
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to do a raffle, host a garden sale, run a marathon or even do a cake sale. There are many ways to raise funds for hunt sabs. All funding goes directly to helping protect and save nonhuman animals in Ireland.
Create it
Once you’ve thought of an idea you can start to create it and promote it. We recommend using a hashtag for it like #fundthesabs, #fundraisingforfoxes or something similar that can catch on and help grow your fundraiser.
Let us help
We have lots of very caring and generous supporters who want to see foxes and others safe from harm. We can promote your fundraising efforts on our social media so you gain more support. So, let us know your plans and we can help you help us. Contact us here or on social media to let us know.
Fundraising Ideas:
5km Walk/Run/Cycle or even Dog Walk
Runners/walkers will need to pay an entry fee, and you can also encourage participants to get sponsorship to raise more funds. Running, walking and cycling are really popular at the moment as so many people are enjoying keeping fit which makes this a great way to raise funds, it can also bring new and existing supporters together with the potential to get more donations from your community.
Virtual Walk/Run
Currently, with social distance rules, you could also look at doing a virtual walk/run. This can be done by having participants run outside on their own or in their family/social bubble. They could also take part by exercising on their treadmill or rowing machine. People would need to potentially pay a registration fee and then gain sponsorship. They would then have a date and time where everyone runs at the same time and each participant can film or use zoom and someone can be the judge and see who crosses the finish line first.
Raffles and donations
There are many different things you can add to a raffle from clothes and toy donations to plants and fresh fruit and vegetables. You can ask local people and shops to donate prizes also Here are some examples:
You can ask a local baker to bake and donate a vegan cake
Local artists to donate some artwork
Hairdresser to donate a wash and cut
Local car wash to donate a valet
Local supermarket to donate a voucher
The list is endless!
The better the prizes the more tickets will be sold!
Once you have your prizes you will then need to get your tickets, you can make your own or you can buy them online. You can also run a raffle online using social media such as Facebook and number generators that you can access online, just make sure you film the numbers that are picked so the sponsors know its fair!
Shave your head!
The participant asks supporters to sponsor them to shave their hair off and donate the hair to a charity like the Rapunzel trust or the little princess trust. The participant needs to choose a date and time for the head shave, and can either film it or go live on social media so all the supporters can watch!
Dye your hair
This is the same as above, the participant will need to gain sponsorship and then set a date and time and film the before and after!
Garden sale
This could be just one person or you could ask neighbours if they would like to participate. Everyone has items in attics and sheds that they no longer want or use, but one persons junk is another person’s treasure! All you need is a table and whatever you have that you would like to sell. It’s worth while to have posters or leaflets that can also be given out explaining who you are fundraising for and why. This also helps to spread the word and gain more supporters.
