Fox cub corpse from hit and run given respect by Leinster Hunt Saboteurs

IMG_5824.JPG

While Leinster Hunt Saboteurs were out yesterday (badger) sett surveying we came across a young female fox cub who died in a car collision in the countryside of East Leinster. We named her Sinéad. Based on Sinéad's rigour-Mortis level, she was lying on the road anywhere from 6-8 hours without being removed; her immediate care and respect denied from the hit-and-run driver, nor any car who passed her body until we found her.

We laid her to rest in a forest nearby, putting some flowers and seeded plants over her body; may her short life be at peace. Please be careful on the roads, thousands of nonhuman mammals and birds (not to mention invertebrates) are killed by car collisions each year.

Fox cubs like Sinéad are being hunted right now all over Ireland, with killings in the thousands over the course of the cub hunting season. We depend on your tip-offs to act in defence of those who are hunted, so please, any information you have on cub-hunting let us know on 0833089557 or email us at leinsterhuntsabs@riseup.net.

You can help us stay on the road by helping us get a sab vehicle or by helping with fuel and gear costs:
