Our early morning start came to a abrupt standstill when Bloodsport enthusiasts, and now criminals, the Grallagh harriers hunt decided to block us in and prevent us moving on a public road for near 15 mins. Unfortunately the Hound van had long gone by the time we got moving again. We searched 2 local spots where they've been seen hunting before but unfortunately found nothing.

Luckily we had another group in place who were hot on the heels of the Co. Roscommon Hunt as they left for the meet location in Fuerty village. We joined up with the team who had kept eyes on the Hunt who unloaded hounds accompanied by 30 plus riders to a crowd of 200 people gathered for the fair. The hunt moved off as we followed in pursuit. We kept in sight of the hunt as they crossed open fields at a moderate pace seemly more interested in jumping walls then trying pick up a scent. At one stage Hounds seemed to be on to something and we prepared for intervention only for huntsman Oliver Walsh beating us to it to calling hounds back and making a point of saying he had more interest in keeping riders happy then actually hunting live quarry.

We kept up with the hunt for the remainder of the day, hounds never going into cry, insuring no Wildlife was killed. Apart from a couple of ignorant comments from Hunt support we weren't met with any aggression on the day.

Only time will tell if Roscommon hunt are just going through the motions or was this a show put for our benefit. As for the Grallagh blood sport enthusiasts, Your criminal behaviour, aggression and lust for blood only motivates us to return.

Please get in touch should you wish to join us in the field defending Wildlife from Hunters or have any information . Support our efforts to stay in the field."
