Update: Hunting with hounds and other forms of “sport” hunting continuing nationwide during Covid level 5 lockdown
We have been getting widespread reports of hunting with hounds throughout Ireland since the country went to Level 5 full lockdown. There is no specific regulation stopping them, besides not inviting the field to join which would make it an "event".
Rough shooters of pheasants and others are also out in force with their express written permission from the Irish government after they went to court in December.
Hare coursers are now going to the High Court with a 200k GoFundMe war chest to get their animal abuse back in action after being left out of the permitted activities.
If you see anything in your area that you believe contradicts the "5km from home" rule, let the local Garda know. Also inform ourselves through our contact form: https://huntsabsireland.com/tip-offs
Most of all, stay safe in these unprecedented times.
